We started this project with a building survey to identify defects and replacement requirements.
These spanned the structure of the building, plus mechanical and electrical installations.
The overarching objective was to identify items of disrepair or required replacements within ten years.
On agreement of the scope of works, a detailed design was undertaken.
This required planning and conservation agreement along with a statement of significance in terms of national heritage.
EDGE also worked with client, design and construction teams to undertake additional works to the building’s exterior. Life cost modelling, special techniques, sustainable development and safety improvements were used.
