This pivotal development for the airport’s future included the construction of a new arrivals terminal. There was also refurbishment and reconfiguration of the existing terminal and new aircraft stands created.

Maximising passenger capacity, improving passenger experience and minimising disruption.

Efficient construction with minimal disruption is key to this critical project.

When complete, the new arrivals terminal will enhance service delivery and boost revenue.

It also will position Leeds Bradford Airport as a regional leader in efficient passenger and baggage movement.

Our strategy ensured operational continuity and adherence to timelines as well as budgets.

Phase one of the project is to build the new arrival terminal.

Phase two centres on refurbishing the existing terminal, and phase three adds additional aircraft stands, optimising the airport’s functionality and passenger experience.

Strategic phasing and procurement for optimal outcomes.

To ensure smooth airport operations during the airport expansion, EDGE defined a detailed strategy of 15 distinct phases.

Our bespoke procurement strategy maximises market interest and value for money. We used a single-stage tendering initially and then moved to two-stage tendering to manage inflation risk.

By clearly identifying client fit-out requirements early, we integrated these into the construction phase. This approach minimised downtime and sped up the Operational Readiness, Activation, and Transition (ORAT) process.
